Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 2 large eggs, room temperature
  • 1 cup whole potato chips, crushed
  • 2 teaspoons dry mustard
  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • ¼ teaspoon kosher salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 yellow onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 can (10.5 ounces) condensed cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 packet (1 ounce) dry onion soup mix

Instructions

  • To a large bowl, add ground beef, eggs, potato chips, dry mustard, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  • Using your hands, mix all the ingredients together until fully combined. Form into four equal patties, about ⅓ pound each.
  • In a large skillet over medium-high heat, sear each patty for about 2-3 minutes per side. The patties will not be fully cooked.
  • Spray the bowl of the crockpot with cooking spray and set the patties on the bottom in a single layer.
  • To a medium bowl, add onion, cream of mushroom soup, and onion soup mix. Stir to combine. Spread the mixture over the patties.
  • Cook on high for 3 hours, or until patties are cooked through and onions are tender. (The internal temperature of the cooked patties should reach 160°F.)
  • Serve with mashed potatoes.
