  • Place the pork loin in the bowl of a slow cooker. (I used a 6-quart slow cooker.) Add ¼ cup of water to the bottom to prevent sticking.
  • Cover and cook on Low for 7–8 hours or High for 4–5 hours, until the pork is tender and easily shreds with a fork.
  • Transfer the pork to a bowl and shred with two forks. Drain any excess liquid from the slow cooker and discard.
  • Return the shredded pork to the slow cooker. Pour in the barbecue sauce and stir to coat.
  • Cover and cook on Low for 15–30 minutes, or until heated through.

Notes

*Can I Use A Different Cut Of Pork?
Yes, you can definitely use a different cut of pork if you don't want to use a pork loin. You can use other cuts like pork shoulder or pork butt. These cuts have more fat, which makes them richer in flavor, so you may want to use a less sweet BBQ sauce.
