Pat the chicken thighs very dry with paper towels and place them in a large bowl or zip-top bag.
Add the olive oil and chicken seasoning. Toss or massage until the chicken is evenly coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, or overnight for best flavor.
When ready, preheat oven to 400°F. Line a baking sheet with foil and place a wire rack on top. Spray the wire rack with nonstick cooking spray.
Arrange the chicken thighs in a single layer on the rack.
Bake for 20 to 25 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F.
Remove from the oven and brush generously with BBQ sauce.
Switch oven to broil on high. Broil for 3 to 5 minutes, watching closely, until the sauce is bubbly and caramelized. For a thicker glaze, brush with additional BBQ sauce halfway through broiling.
Let the chicken rest for 5 minutes before serving. Serve with extra BBQ sauce on the side.
