- 1 recipe (1 cup) Firecracker Sauce, divided
- 1 ½ pounds sirloin or ribeye steak, cut into 1-inch cubes
- ½ teaspoon kosher salt
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- green onions, for garnish
In a large bowl, season the steak bites with salt and pepper.
Pour ¼ cup of the firecracker sauce over the steak and toss to coat. Let it marinate at room temperature for 30 minutes.
To a large skillet over medium-high heat, add oil. Once hot, add the steak bites in a single layer. (Depending on the size of the skillet, you may have to work in batches.) Sear for 1-2 minutes per side until browned and caramelized. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
Reduce the heat to medium and pour the remaining firecracker sauce into the skillet. Let it simmer for 1-2 minutes until slightly thickened. Return the steak bites to the skillet and toss to coat in the sauce. Cook for 30 more seconds, then remove from heat.
Serve immediately, drizzling any extra sauce from the pan over the steak bites for added flavor. Garnish with green onions if desired.
