Ingredients & Substitutions
- Blueberries: Fresh or frozen blueberries both work great. Frozen blueberries can make the shot extra cold and refreshing.
- Lemons: Peeled lemons add a bright, tangy flavor. You can remove seeds if you’d like a smoother taste.
- Fresh Ginger: Adds a little spice and warmth. If you like a milder flavor, use a smaller piece.
- Honey: Adds natural sweetness. Maple syrup can be used instead if you prefer.
- Black pepper: Just a tiny pinch helps bring all the flavors together.
- Coconut Water: Helps everything blend smoothly and adds a light, slightly sweet flavor. You can use regular water if needed.

FAQs
Can I use bottled lemon juice instead of fresh lemons?
Fresh lemons are best for the brightest flavor and most benefits. Bottled lemon juice will work in a pinch, but the taste won’t be quite as fresh.
Can I make these shots without a strainer?
Yes! If you don’t mind a thicker texture, you can skip straining and drink it as-is. For a smoother, more traditional “shot,” straining is recommended.
Can I make this without coconut water?
Yes. You can use regular water instead. Coconut water adds a light sweetness, but the recipe will still work without it.
Can I freeze blueberry lemon shots?
Yes! Pour the juice into ice cube trays and freeze. Once frozen, transfer to a sealed bag or container. Thaw in the refrigerator or at room temperature before drinking.
When is the best time to drink wellness shots?
Many people like to drink them in the morning for a fresh start, but you can enjoy one any time of day when you want a quick boost.

- Pre- or post-workout sip: Enjoy a small shot before or after exercise to help hydrate and energize naturally.

How to Store Blueberry Lemon Shots
Room temperature: These wellness shots are best enjoyed right away, but you can leave a freshly made shot out for up to 2 hours.
Refrigerator: Store in a sealed glass bottle or jar for up to 3 to 4 days. Give it a quick stir or shake before drinking, as natural separation may occur.
Freezer: Pour the juice into ice cube trays and freeze. Once frozen, transfer the cubes to a sealed bag or container. Thaw in the refrigerator or at room temperature before drinking your blueberry lemon wellness shot.
