Hamburger Seasoning Mix is a homemade seasoning that is easy to blend with spices you probably already have on hand. Save a trip to the store and use this seasoning in my Cheeseburger Sliders recipe and Cheeseburger Pasta next time. Of course, it’s perfect for my Classic Cheeseburger recipe as well.
Hamburger Seasoning Mix
How many times have you started making a recipe and realized you didn’t have a certain spice or seasoning to use? Well, it’s happened to me more than I would like to admit, but it’s an easy fix when you can make your own. This hamburger seasoning mix is a seasoning that is easy to whisk together. Plus, most of the seasonings in hamburger seasoning are probably in your spice rack or drawer already!
How to Make Hamburger Seasoning Mix
Once you have your ingredients measured out, simply mix them together in a small dish. That’s it! The more times you make this, the more opportunities you have to make it satisfy your taste buds. Store the seasoning in an airtight container for up to six months. The seasoning will last even longer than six months, but you will lose some of the flavors the longer the seasoning is stored.
Glass vs. Plastic Storage for Seasonings and Spices
An airtight glass container will extend the shelf-life of your seasonings and spices longer than an airtight plastic container. Glass is less porous, so less air can enter the container which can damage spices. A lid of a glass container also gives a tighter seal. Also, keep light exposure to your spices to a minimum, especially if you do not store them in a cabinet.
How Much Hamburger Seasoning To Use?
I wish I could tell you to “season to taste” because that is the truth, but everyone needs somewhere to start right? I recommend starting with 2 teaspoons on homemade seasoning per 1 pound of hamburger. My husband and I prefer 1 tablespoon but we also only make 4 burgers out of a pound of hamburger. 😉
