Bang Bang Shrimp Tacos

It all starts with the bang bang shrimp in this recipe. I have the classic Bang Bang Shrimp recipe as well as an Air Fryer Bang Bang Shrimp you could use. To make this a meal, I added a homemade cabbage slaw to go with the shrimp inside a flour tortilla.

Bang bang shrimp is named for the sweet and sour sauce that covers fried shrimp and gives you that ‘pop’ of flavor in each bite. (In fact, I loved the sauce so much, I used it on my Bang Bang Chicken Skewers that you will want to try next!)

Ingredients for Bang Bang Shrimp Tacos

Bang Bang Shrimp Tacos Ingredients

Bang Bang Shrimp: This is shrimp that is fried to a crispy golden brown and coated in a sweet and spicy bang bang sauce.

Avocado Corn Salsa: This is optional (you can use any salsa) but we love it!

Flour Tortillas: I prefer the smaller tortillas for this recipe, and you can even make homemade tortillas! Corn tortillas would also be perfect. You can warm up the tortillas on a skillet if you prefer.

Cilantro: Fresh cilantro is used in this recipe. It’s a flavor that some people love, but some stay away from it altogether. If you are not a fan, start with half the amount in this recipe. Wash the cilantro well before using it. Remove the leaves and discard the stems. Chop or rip the leaves to the size you prefer.

Ingredients for Slaw for Bang Bang Shrimp Tacos

How to Make Cabbage Slaw

The slaw can really be piled on these bang bang shrimp tacos to give you the vegetables you may crave or need. You can make this cabbage slaw ahead of time so it’s ready to be served with the tacos. To make the slaw, first, whisk together the sour cream, mayonnaise, lime juice, and salt. Next, add the cabbage, jalapeno pepper, green onions, and cilantro. Store it in the refrigerator until ready to use.

Made this last night for friends & it was a HUGE hit. This is a such an easy recipe. I put the shrimp on a cooling rack until all were fried & they stayed perfectly crisp. I made the slaw in the morning & it was perfect by dinner time. I will definitely be making these again & again.
