Dill Dip
From dill pickle popcorn seasoning to dill juice to the popular dill pickle chips, it seems like many foods are coming out with a dill pickle variety. Well, let’s not forget about this dill dip. This is made with both mayonnaise and sour cream for a super creamy seasoned dip. Be sure to add this to your vegetable tray. It is also great as a sandwich spread!
How to Store
Store the dip in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 3-4 days. Be sure you keep a bowl of the dip in ice if it is going to be sitting out for more than two hours.
Variations to the Recipe
There are a couple of substitutions you could try when making this recipe.
- Sour cream could be replaced with a cup of greek yogurt for a healthier option.
- Use olive oil mayonnaise for another lighter option.
- If you don’t have fresh dill, use about 1 tablespoon of dried dill since dried herbs have a more concentrated flavor. (The general rule is to use 1/3 of dried herbs to replace fresh herbs in a recipe.)Â
- Use 1 teaspoon of dried parsley to replace the tablespoon of fresh parsley.

This is such an easy dip to make. I use fresh dill that I froze and it works great! So delicious!
Tried this for the first time. Have fresh dill growing in the garden and wanted to make a fresh dill dip for a party. Read through some of the other comments first. Taking the recommendations of other reviews I used only 1 teas of the seasoned salt (used Lowrey’s). Added 4 TBL of fresh chopped dill and 1 1/2 TBL of the onion powder. Kept everything else the same. WOW….just sampling it without it having sat in refrigerator for several hours….it is fantastic!!! Can’t wait to have the party goers try this!! Sooooo good! Thank you for the recipe and inspiration.
Thanks for a delicious and easy recipe. I love dill dip. I did take the advice of other reviewers and used only about 1/4 the amount of salt called for, and also added a splash of Worcestershire. It came out great.
Second time making this dip. Really good. Probably the last of my dill plant before the swallow tails find it. It’s a keeper. Thank you
I use lite ranch dressing in replace of the Mayo. Friends and family loved it.
Loved the dip, agree 2t seasoned salt to much.
Granddaughters loved it.
2tsp. Salt? Much too much!! Just a sprinkle would do.
Yes agree way to salty wish I had read this before I made it
You forgot the splash of worchestershire sauce
You can certainly add that to yours! I didn’t forget how to make my grandma’s recipe. 🙂
To salty, getting to cut on salt next time.
Great with fried fish.
Holy Macaroni is this dip delicious! I used dried parsley, because I didn’t have fresh, which is ok by me because the dill is the star of the show. 100 out of 5 stars!
Use to make dill dip all the time. My kids loved it. They would eat this dip and veggies instead of candy. Have not made it in quite awhile, so I needed a recipe to remind me how to make this wonderful dip which can be used with veggies and chips. I use cottage cheese instead of sour cream and in the summer when I have my fresh herbs, I put some fresh chives in it.
Great dip!!
We love this recipe! Only suggestion would just add a little salt. 2 t is way too much.
Dill Dip is a Go-To favorite with our family!! Ingredients are present and accounted for! Our fridge always embraces sour cream and Hellman’s. Our pantry always stores Parsley Flakes, Dill Weed, Minced Onions and Lawry’s Seasoned Salt!! Our chips and veggies leap into containers, and our belly’s yell… YIPPPIE!!!! After showing our grandson how to make it, when he comes over, we’re lucky to get a HELLO as he heads for the kitchen, begins stirring and….Dill Dip is served!!! We suggested he might want to add this skill to his resume!!
Instead of seasoned salt, try 1 tablespoon Beau Monde and use Hellmans mayonnaise. You won’t be as snl a la lee t stop eating it. We always use a round eye bread for dipping, and veggies of course.
Is was good except it was way way too salty. Next time I will cut the seasoning salt by at least half. Probably more.
Best Dill dip EVER!!! So easy and delicious. For sure a keeper!!!
Thank you for the recipe. 😘💞💕
Brings back memories of my childhood. Used dried dill like Mom did. I don’t think seasoned salt was in my her recipe just salt but spot on otherwise! Thanks for the recipe! Delicious!
Made this for years. Easy and tasty!! Do not even measure anymore.
