Avocado Ranch Dressing is rich, creamy, and full of flavor! Made with ripe avocado, mayonnaise, sour cream, homemade ranch seasoning mix, garlic, and a splash of lemon juice, it’s perfectly smooth and versatile. I love the adjustable consistency—keep it thick for dipping or thin it out to drizzle over a salad! This is a delicious twist on my popular homemade ranch dressing, which you will also want to try. Once you taste homemade dressings, you may never go back to store-bought!
Ingredients & Substitutions
- Avocado: The star of the dressing is the avocado, making the dressing extra creamy! Plus, avocado is packed with healthy fats, making the dressing rich and satisfying!
- Mayonnaise: To help everything blend smoothly, add mayonnaise. If you don’t have any on hand, make homemade mayonnaise to use!
- Sour Cream: Sour cream gives the dressing a tangy flavor and adds to the creaminess. Light sour cream can work here, too, if preferred. Or, try it with Greek yogurt for a slightly tangier taste and more protein!
- Lemon Juice: Lemon juice doesn’t just brighten up the flavor of the dressing, but it also helps keep the avocado from browning.
- Garlic: I used a grated clove of garlic, but minced garlic would also work. If using minced garlic, start with a little less and adjust to taste.
- Ranch Seasoning Mix: For the classic ranch flavor, add a tablespoon of dry ranch seasoning mix. I have a homemade mix that I use for my ranch dressing, which helps the dressing stand out from other ranch dressings.
How To Adjust The Consistency Of Avocado Ranch Dressing
To adjust the consistency of avocado ranch dressing, simply add milk a little at a time. Start with 3 tablespoons and blend it in. If you want the dressing thinner, keep adding 1 tablespoon of milk at a time until it’s just right for drizzling. If you prefer it thicker for dipping, use less milk or none at all.
Delicious Ways To Use Avocado Ranch Dressing
From a dip to a dressing to a sandwich spread, you will want to use this avocado ranch dressing as often as possible! Here are a few of my favorite ways to use the dressing:
- Drizzle over your favorite salad.
- Dip in some fresh vegetables (add it to your vegetable tray), homemade potato chips, or air fryer french fries!
- Spread it on bread or wraps.
- Add a creamy (and flavorful) finish to tacos (like my Baja Fish Tacos), burritos, or fajitas.
- Instead of traditional pizza sauce, try this dressing for a creamy ranch twist!
- Top your air fryer baked potato with a scoop of avocado ranch.
- Use it in place of ketchup or mayonnaise on your favorite burger like my classic cheeseburger.
Can I Make Avocado Ranch Without A Food Processor?
Yes, you can make avocado ranch dressing without a food processor! Simply mash the avocado with a fork or potato masher until smooth, then whisk in the mayonnaise, sour cream, ranch seasoning, garlic, and lemon juice. Gradually add milk to reach your desired consistency, whisking until everything is well combined. It might take a little extra effort to get the smoothness, but it will still turn out delicious!
How To Store Avocado Ranch Dressing
To store avocado ranch dressing, keep it in an airtight container or a jar in the refrigerator. It should last up to 3-4 days. Give it a good stir when ready to serve or enjoy. I do not recommend freezing the dressing.
