Parmesan crisps are light, crispy, and delicate rounds made with just one ingredient—grated Parmesan cheese—baked until golden and slightly crunchy. If you are looking for a low-carb snack, grab a few of these to munch on! (But watch out, they are addicting!) Or, use them as a salad topper, add them to soups for an extra crunch, or pair them with your favorite dips for a savory treat. They are super easy to make, and you will love them more than any store-bought crisps! Once you see how easy these are to make, you will definitely want to make my homemade tortilla chips, too!

How To Choose The Best Parmesan Cheese For Crisps

When making Parmesan crisps, the type of cheese you choose is important. I like to use finely grated Parmesan cheese for the best texture. Freshly grated Parmesan gives the crisps a richer, deeper flavor, but you can also use pre-grated Parmesan from a container if that’s what you have on hand. (But, pre-grated cheese will not melt as well or look as lovely.) If you like a sharper flavor, you could try Pecorino Romano cheese instead of Parmesan for a fun twist. Whatever you choose, be sure the cheese is finely grated so it melts and crisps up perfectly!

Creative & Tasty Ways To Enjoy Parmesan Crisps {Snacks, Salads, Soups, and More}

If you don’t eat them all at once (I am talking to myself here), there are many delicious ways to enjoy these crisps. Here are a few of my favorites:

  1. Snack–Grab a handful for a low-carb crunchy snack!
  2. Salad Toppers
  3. Soup Garnish–I like them on my roasted tomato soup, butternut squash, or beer cheese soup to add texture.
  4. Dip In! Serve them with your favorite dips like homemade guacamole, roasted salsa, or creamy ranch dressing for a fun, crunchy scoop.
  5. Use them as an alternative to chips in tacos or nachos.

Delicious Flavor Variations For Parmesan Crisps

Although I love these parmesan crisps as-is, there are many ways to customize the crisps with a variety of flavorful seasonings. Try adding Cajun seasoning, lemon pepper, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, everything seasoning, or a blend of seasonings. Just sprinkle the seasoning evenly on top of the cheese before baking, or mix them into the cheese for a flavor that is blended throughout.

Can I Make Parmesan Crisps In An Air Fryer?

In one word, nope! We tried it, and the cheese just flew around in the basket of the air fryer. So, stick to baking them in the oven for the perfect crispy results!

How To Store Parmesan Crisps

To store parmesan crisps, first, let them cool completely. Next, keep them in an airtight container at room temperature. They will last up to 3-5 days.
