Honey garlic chicken sliders have tender, shredded slow cooker honey garlic chicken on a buttery brioche slider bun, topped with a crisp slaw of red cabbage, carrot, and cilantro. They can be enjoyed as the main dish with a side like french fries or a salad. Or, share them as a tasty appetizer. Any way you serve these little sandwiches, they will be a hit! I also have BBQ Chicken Sliders you may want to try!

Ingredients & Substitutions

Honey Garlic Chicken: My slow cooker honey garlic chicken is delicious on its own, so I knew I had to shred the chicken to make sliders!

Buns: For this recipe, I used brioche slider buns. You could use any small buns like Hawaiian rolls or even easy dinner rolls. Of course, for fewer sandwiches, you could use regular buns and really pile on the chicken and slaw!

Slaw: The homemade slaw is slightly sweet and slightly tangy. It is made with red cabbage, carrots, cilantro, rice vinegar, soy sauce, lime juice, and sugar.

How To Serve Honey Garlic Chicken Sliders

Honey Garlic Chicken Sliders are versatile enough to be served in a variety of ways. Here are some options for serving the sliders:

  • As a Main Dish: If serving the sliders as a main dish, pair them with delicious sides. Try air fryer french fries, homemade potato chips, roasted sweet potatoes, or my original roasted potato salad. All would be wonderful and tasty options.
  • As an Appetizer: Arrange the sliders on a large platter, with toothpicks inserted for easy serving. This is ideal for parties or gatherings where guests can help themselves.
  • Provide dipping sauces like extra honey garlic sauce or a spicy mayo for variety. You could also add small portions of slaw on the side for guests to customize their sliders.

Can I Make Honey Garlic Chicken Sliders Ahead Of Time?

You can certainly prepare the chicken in advance, as it takes a few hours in the slow cooker. Once it’s cooled, store the shredded chicken and any extra sauce in airtight containers in the refrigerator. They will stay fresh for 3-4 days. Make the slaw only when you’re ready to assemble the sliders to keep it crisp. When it’s time to put the sliders together, reheat the chicken and sauce in the microwave. (These sliders also taste great cold!)

How To Store Honey Garlic Chicken Sliders

When storing honey garlic chicken sliders, store the parts of the sliders separately. The cooked chicken and sauce will last up to 3-4 days in the refrigerator. The slaw, if the dressing has already been mixed in, will last up to 1-2 days in the refrigerator.
