Ingredients & Substitutions

  • Hawaiian Rolls: King’s Hawaiian rolls are my go-to when it comes to sliders (and I have quite a few slider recipes!) Because I love them so much, I also have a homemade Hawaiian roll recipe you could try. I think my sweet potato rolls would also be delicious with these sliders!
  • Herb Butter Topping: I mix melted butter with a little kosher salt and fresh parsley for the topping of the rolls. It is so simple, but it adds so much flavor to the sliders. And, I love how it bakes the rolls up nice and golden.
  • Cranberry Aioli: It’s all about the homemade cranberry aioli in these sliders. It ties in with the Thanksgiving theme in the most delicious way! Cranberry sauce would also be tasty!
  • Cheese: I like provolone cheese in these sliders because it melts beautifully. Or, try another kind of cheese like Swiss cheese, Monterey Jack, cheddar cheese, or Havarti cheese.
  • Turkey: If you are looking for a mouth-watering way to use up leftover Thanksgiving turkey (or any cooked turkey), try these sliders! From my Herb Butter Roast Turkey to Cajun Dry-Brine Turkey to my Bacon Wrapped Turkey, they would all be perfect for these little turkey sandwiches!
  • Tomatoes and Onions: I added tomatoes and onions to the sliders. But, if you are not a fan, leave them off. Or, replace them with roasted red peppers, jalapenos (for a spicy kick), or any of your favorite vegetables.

How To Freeze Turkey Melt Sliders for Easy Meal Prep

To get the sliders made ahead of time for meal prep, it’s easy! Just assemble the turkey melt sliders (do not bake them), wrap them tightly in plastic wrap and aluminum foil, and label the package with the date. You can freeze them for 2-3 months. Bake them straight from the freezer at 350°F for about 25-30 minutes, then uncover and bake for another 10-15 minutes until golden brown and bubbly.

How To Store Leftover Turkey Melt Sliders with Cranberry Aioli

To store leftover turkey melt sliders, first, let them cool to room temperature. Next, keep them in an airtight container in the refrigerator. They will last up to 2-3 days. Reheat the sliders in the microwave or oven. Thanksgiving leftovers have never been so delicious!

What the Test Kitchen had to say about this recipe:

Autumn

The combination of the roasted turkey and cranberry aioli is perfect in these sliders. They were super easy to make, too.

Elizabeth

These are definitely a step-up from an average leftover turkey sandwich! I loved these!

Annabelle

These are pretty good. They seem easy to put together and are something a little different with the cranberry aioli.

Bella

I loved how flavorful these sliders are! The cranberry aioli adds such a nice touch. They’re also fun to eat (I don't mind they can be a little messy); perfect for a casual dinner or game day.

Selena

The gooey provolone and the soft King's Hawaiian rolls make these sliders so comforting. Love the cranberry twist!
