Garlic Bagel Chips is a plain bagel cut into rounds, coated in garlic butter, and air fried to a crispy golden brown. Be prepared…you will not be able to stop crunching on these once you start! Check out my oven-baked potato chips, too, for another addicting snack.
Garlic Bagel Chips
I absolutely love this snack! It is a quick and easy way to enjoy a crunchy snack without all the added preservatives from a bag of bagel chips. You could even make your own plain bagels to use, but store-bought ones work just fine. If you don’t have an air fryer, I will also let you know how to make these in the oven.
Ingredients & Substitutions
Butter: I used salted butter, but you could get away with unsalted if preferred.
Garlic: Yes, you read that amount correctly…add two tablespoons of minced garlic to the butter. And no, it is not too overpowering. We tested quite a few batches to get the perfect amount of garlic.
Bagels: Grab some plain bagels to cut into rounds, or make your own homemade bagels to use! And, play around with other kinds of bagels like Everything Bagels or Cinnamon Sugar Bagels (without the garlic, of course) dipped in cream cheese. If you use sliced bagels, your chips will be more half-moon shape, but still delicious!
What to Serve with Garlic Bagel Chips
I could eat the entire batch of these as-is, but they are also delicious with dips. Some of my favorites are jalapeno corn dip, hummus, spinach dip, crab and artichoke dip, and dill dip, just to name a few. But, don’t stop at dips! How about trying them with soups, too, like my roasted tomato soup? They could easily be served in place of croutons (which you will also love).
How to Make Bagel Chips in the Oven
If you don’t have an air fryer, you can still make and enjoy these garlic bagel chips. (I don’t want you to miss out!) To make them in the oven, follow the instructions up to placing the coated bagel rounds in the air fryer. Instead, place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake for 15 minutes at 350°F, flipping them over halfway through baking time.
How to Store
Store the bagel chips in a zipper bag, at room temperature, for up to a week. However, they are best eaten within a few days, which I don’t think will be a problem!
